Environmental Control System (ECS):

The Environmental Control System (ECS) is the control system designed to monitor and control the environment factors such as temperature and humidity, in order to maintain an acceptable environment for Metro patrons, employees and equipment in the underground railway stations. The ECS uses Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) & Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) to monitor and control the equipment in the underground railway stations & tunnels.

Environmental Control System enables:

• Monitoring and controlling of HVAC units and mechanical ventilation units remotely,
• Alarming (through HMI/SMS, e-mail),
• Event reports in excel/csv format
• Historical Trending,
• Network connectivity,

• Web Server, OPC Server, SQL Server.

Metro Tunnel Ventilation Systems

Metro systems consist of underground stations as well as tunnels, which connect these stations. Similar to rail tunnels, the ventilation system in the tubes is mainly used to transport smoke gases out of the tunnel in case of fire.
